Recommended Creatinine/GFR Guidelines
Frequently asked questions of our Radiologists relate to contrast and guidelines for creatinine and GFR.
If your patient is 60 or older, diabetic, or has known kidney problems, the Radiologist would like to see creatinine documented within the past 30 days.
If creatinine is ≥ 1.8, call the Radiologist.
For MR, if GFR is: 45-60, use a 1/2 dose of contrast 30-45, call the Radiologist < 30, scan without contrast
We wanted to share this in our newsletter because we've had many related questions recently, but please feel free to call us anytime with protocol questions!
